Often called the third teacher, a kindergarten environment is the stage on which learning takes place. Space and resources are some of the first things to come to mind, but what tends to matter the most is the the attitude and culture within the kindergarten environment. Children need to feel safe. They need to feel nurtured. They need to feel encouraged and supported. When they do, they can explore and experiment. They can try and fail over and over until they succeed. They can thrive.
